Swansea (A): Preview

Games are coming thick and fast and it is fair to say this will be the busiest month of the season and the way it is going for Leeds it may well be a pivotal month. With a run of six league wins in a row it is not rational to think Leeds are going to win the next three and make it 9 on the spin. Swansea away tomorrow night followed by another trip to Plymouth on Saturday and then finishing off the league games for February with Leicester at home will have been a gruelling month but so far all is going to plan. If we do win these next three the chances are that Southampton will slip up and then Leeds will be in the driving seat for the first time this season. I still think Leeds are the best team in the league and if you start the season from September, when the transfer window closed and Farke was able to be sure of his squad of players, they will be in the top two. Leeds have done the double over Ipswich and beaten the leaders Leicester away. The blot on the copybook was the costly defeat at Southampton but we have the last game at home to put that to rights.

Leeds will be unchanged again and with James back from injury and on the bench they should have enough to win tomorrow night. Swansea have already lost six times at home in the league this season. Leeds should have no problems if form and pedigree are taken into consideration but, as always, anything can happen. In the home match at the end of November Swansea put the willies up Leeds in the first half. It was not a comfortable night for Leeds and they didn’t play well but still were able to win. If anything Swansea have gone backwards since then, but with a fervent home crowd and buoyed by an away win at Hull on Saturday, the home team will be no pushover. Whether or not this is a difficult game for Leeds is an unknown. We are due for a defeat, it is bound to happen soon and a draw also looks a strong possibility but if Leeds play as they did on Saturday and especially if they can be clinical, they are likely to blow the Swans away. It is another exciting night watching our heroes in the warmth and comfort.
