Millwall Home - Preview | Leeds...Leeds...Leeds!

Millwall (H): Preview

Leeds can go top if they beat Millwall in the 3pm kick off at Elland Road, and with no new injury worries should again be at full strength. At this stage in the season this is a great luxury for Daniel Farke to have. Struijk is likely to need an operation and will be out for the rest of the season but, as he hasn’t played for months, Leeds will cope admirably without him. Leicester are in the FA Cup still, so there is no league match this weekend for them and this presents a brilliant opportunity for Leeds to jump to the top of the league if we win by 2 clear goals. Millwall had a terrible run of form in January and February and  then reappointed Neil Harris as their manager and have now had 3 wins and a draw since his return. This excellent run has arrested the slide towards relegation and they look reasonably safe in 16th position but should be no match for Leeds, with another full house ready to roar the Mighty Whites to another win.

There is huge interest in this game for the home fans, tickets are harder to come by than ever, returns are snapped up in seconds but it is very likely there will be 75% of the Millwall seats empty…what a farce! My mind goes back to Bielsa’s two seasons in the Championship when we had the same fixture and both games were around this time in the season and both thrilling 3-2 victories. I will settle for that and second place in the league. Leeds have had 9 days without a match and following tomorrow’s game we have a most welcome international break. I hated them in the first half of the season but this time  it is different, we all need a rest and Farke the magnificent can relax on the couch with some cake and coffee while he contemplates the final assault with only 8 games to go.
