Brum - Preview | Leeds...Leeds...Leeds!

Birmingham (H): Preview

I have just listened to Daniel Farke’s pre-match press conference and he always comes up with brilliant answers. He said he wants us to go into this match tomorrow “with the knife between our teeth” in order to regain our momentum. He is so inspiring and has filled me with confidence after these two surprising defeats. I hoped for four points at least from the two games and to end up with nil pois was so deflating. So tomorrow I feel the players will have “the knife between the teeth” and get back to winning ways.

I feel the players will have “the knife between the teeth” and get back to winning ways.

The weather should be decent and another full house will hopefully cheer our heroes on to victory. Farke talked about targets when answering the questions from the press. The first target is to make sure that you are not at the wrong end of the table. The second target is to get into the top 6 and consolidate your position as this gives you the chance of promotion. The next box to tick is to finish as high as possible and if you can be 3rd in the league in the last few games with points to play for you try to get into the top two. All very sensible and feet on the ground talk. With January upon us, though he expects it to be quiet transfer-wise, especially compared to the summer window, he did make a point of saying we will not fall asleep…if there are players that will help us then it could happen.

So tomorrow we have Wayne Rooney’s team visiting. They have not had a good time recently and facing Leeds is a big test. January will give our players to chance to get their breath back after such a busy few weeks. After tomorrow we have an FA Cup match, which will be a well needed break from the pressures of the league, and then we have winnable games after that….Cardiff away, then home games against Preston and Norwich, surely a great chance of putting a good run together. Wishing us all a Happy New Year…come on ye whites!!!
