Bristol City A - Preview | Leeds...Leeds...Leeds!

Bristol City (A): Preview

Leeds United head to Ashton Gate tonight for what is likely to be another difficult fixture. It is a hell of a month ahead for Leeds with much traveling for the away fans and four short flights for the Mighty Whites, with two visits to Plymouth and Swansea to come after the long trip to The West Country tonight, not to mention a 5th round away game at Chelsea or Villa if they win at Plymouth. The squad was bolstered last night with the addition of right back Connor Roberts, on loan from Burnley. Farke should be delighted that this one scrambled over the line before the 11pm deadline….was that just the club teasing the fans?

Leeds will be second in the table for the first time this season if they win at Bristols and for once will put pressure on Southampton and Ipswich, both playing away tomorrow. I will be happy with Leeds treading water during February, as long as they don’t lose any ground…that is vital. Dan James will be missing with his injury which should pave the way for Jadon Anthony making  a well-deserved start in a league game after his brilliant goal against Plymouth in the Cup last Saturday. Bristol City are another team that seem to win and lose at the same ratio  but their season has been peppered with some excellent results, recently knocking West Ham out of the cup so I don’t know what to expect tonight, especially after 6 away defeats already for Leeds so far this season. We can’t really afford another defeat if 2nd place is to become a reality. We have to win these games against mid table teams away from Elland Road to have a realistic chance of automatic promotion.
