Cardiff Away - Preview | Leeds...Leeds...Leeds!

Cardiff City (A): Preview

Tomorrow the Mighty Whites visit one of our bogey teams, Cardiff City; we always seem to struggle away from home against them. It has been a good start to the New Year so far, a moral boosting home win over Birmingham on New Years Day and then a convincing cup win at Peterborough, with a home tie at last in the 4th round. A run of 13 away matches in a row is a record that is likely to stand until the world stops going round and Leeds should have no problems against Plymouth Argyle and maybe a 5th round home tie will be the reward.

Luke Ayling said a sad farewell this week having moved on loan to Middlesborough. He posted a wonderful heartfelt “goodbye” message to the fans. He has been one of the most popular players at Elland Road during recent years and has given us some great memories. Patrick Bamford has had an amazing week having scored the goal of a life-time against Peterborough on Sunday. He should be buzzing tomorrow and will definitely start the game. Mes comes back into goal after his suspension and hopefully Leeds will be too strong for an inconsistent Cardiff City who have won 11 and lost 11 so far this season. They are knocking on the door of the playoffs and a win for them tomorrow will keep their hopes alive. Leeds can’t afford to lose any more ground behind Ipswich and Southampton in the chase for 2nd place and need a win tomorrow to keep up the pressure.

With the second half of the season upon us, games will quickly run out and before we know it Easter will be here. Farke the Furke gave another brilliant pre-match presser. He always has so much to say and he is so enlightening. He is a worthy successor to Bielsa and we are so lucky to have a brilliant manager again. Ted has done a podcast with Simon Jordan this week. I will give it a listen and I am sure I will enjoy it. I am expecting a lot of deluded sound bites. I will be unable to follow tomorrow’s game as I am away… ‘darn sarf’. Hopefully when I come out of the theatre I will be greeted with a Leeds victory.
